I think that one of the most valid questions anyone can ask is 'How do I know that God loves me?' How do you know that someone loves you? I hear lots of people saying to each other the words 'I love you', but how is that love known? Well, love is always demonstrated through actions, and God has demonstrated by His actions that He loves you! The next question you have to ask is 'Well, what has God done to show me that He loves me?' Now that's another great question! Here is what God has done to show He loves you...
God has demonstrated His own love toward us in that whilst we were still sinners, Christ died for us
Romans 5 v8
Even though we didn't deserve His love, and in fact deserved His anger for the sins we have committed, God sent His Son Jesus to take the punishment for those sins in our place, and he literally died for you. That's how much He loves you and that's how much He has shown He loves you. You can know the love of Jesus today because he defeated death by being raised from the dead!
If you're ever wondering if God loves you then look at the Cross of Jesus, because it's there, set in history, that God says 'I love you - this much'. And there really is 'No Greater Love' than that.
