20th June

As a church we are delighted to be working in partnership with a Compassion project in Burkina Faso, though whom we have seen dozens of children sponsored out of poverty and blessed with education, health care and gospel teaching. We have also been privileged to help the project acquire play equipment, mosquito nets and have extra classrooms built. However, one of the frustrations over recent years is that we haven’t had many profiles of children in need of sponsorship from that particular project. But that has just changed!

We have recently been given the profiles of 18 precious children who are in need of sponsorship. We aim to get many of them sponsored at our Compassion evening with Written in Kings this coming Friday. However, if you would be interested in sponsoring one of these children please do get in touch with us … Read More »

18th December

Earlier this year one of our members, Margaret Davies, set about the colossal task of knitting puppets for all 125(ish) kids of the Compassion project that we partner with in Burkina Faso. As you can see from the photos and the letter below – it was a gift that has been very well received and touched many hearts.

Well done Margaret and thank you for all your hard work and dedication!

Hill City Church is privileged and excited to work in partnership with SIM Paspanga church in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso and to sponsor scores of children out there through the local Compassion project. Over the years, As well as writng and receiving letters, we have been privileged to be able to bless the children in the Compassion project in multiple ways, including providing them with mosquito nets and new play ground equipment. We are currently still fund-raising to cover the cost of the construction of new classrooms for the children at the Compassion Centre.

It’s fair to say that the children of Burkina Faso really matter to the saints of Hill City. This has recently been proved in a quite compelling way by one of the ladies from church, Margaret, who has knitted puppets for each of the 120 children in the project. … Read More »

18th February

Great news from our partner church in Burkina Faso! The Compassion classroom project has now been completed, providing much needed new facilities and creating opportunities for scores more children from the Paspanga community to receive invaluable education, food, health care and Christian love. Thanks to all who have been involved in helping to raise funds for this project – your money has already made a HUGE difference to the lives of so many precious kids. HOWEVER, there is still much to be done and funds still to be raised in order for us to fulfil our commitments to seeing this project through to completion.

More fund-raising news coming soon.

Stay tuned…
