Dai Hankey - Church Leader
Dai is 31 years old and was born and raised in Pontypool. He went to UWIC in 1995 and after graduating with a degree in Leisure, he started working for Highfields Church (Cardiff) doing stuff like working with local youth off the streets and running Bible studies in Cardiff Prison.
In 2001 he moved to the St. Mellons estate to serve the local Beacon Church, again working with youth and young offenders, as well as getting stuck into preaching, discipleship and setting up the EZ36 team. Soon after, he married Michelle and they've been loving the adventure of mission together ever since!
In 2005 Dai also started working for Ignite as their evangelism and discipleship co-ordinator, encouraging young Christians to live all-out for Jesus and it was with Ignite that he wrote and continues to run the Offensive Evangelism Training Course too.
Dai has now been officially released by Highfields Church to lead Hill City Church and he's well up for it!
Dai's hobbies include walking his hefty dog (Boaz), munching hot curries, reading (not just comics), DJ-ing, Drum and Bass, writing songs/lyrics, playing football, and he's a loyal Cardiff City fan!
Roger Pomeroy
Roger Pomeroy, together with his wife Diana, have lived and worked in Pakistan for 38 years seeking to share the gospel with various peoples of that country. Roger has been involved in telling Hindus and Muslims about Jesus and then engaged in working to gather believers together in house churches in various parts of the Punjab and Sindh provinces of that vast country.
Since returning to Cardiff for (so called) retirement in May of 2006, Roger has increasingly been concerned to share the Good News about Jesus with people in the Welsh valleys and as he says, "What better place to begin than Trevethin and what richer times of sharing than with our delightful friends of the Hill City Church? Other team members have the advantage of youth. In retirement I count it a rich privilege to share something of our experience..... and am even beginning to understand the culture and lingo which is somewhat very different to Pakistan!"
