27th January

This week we were introduced to Jacob, who we’ll be studying for the next few weeks. He begins with a fervent desire to be blessed in his life, but we see him going about it in completely the wrong ways. Bikes for Refugees

21st January

Friends, I was delighted when I learned last month that Torfaen is providing accommodation for several families from war-torn Syria who have sought refuge in Wales. As soon as this was announced I felt compelled that we as a church should do whatever we can to welcome them into our community and to help them settle.

As you can imagine, I was thrilled to be approached today and asked if we could help to provide some bicycles for the children in these families. Genesis Week 12: Abraham – The Test

10th January

This week we saw Abraham’s faith stretched almost as far as it could possibly be as he’s asked to sacrifice the son who he had waited so many long years to receive. Despite the enormity of what he’s asked to do we see Abraham obey implicitly, trusting in his God to provide. This week we finally saw the birth of the Son of Promise after 20 years of waiting for Abraham and Sarah, and we reflected on their journey since God had first called them away from their family to be part of His great rescue plan for His world.
