Sunday 3rd November was an exciting day for us at Hill City Church as we launched our fourth gospel community. The location: Thornhill, Cwmbran. It was exciting on so many levels…
Firstly, because it’s our first gospel community outside Pontypool. Our vision is to be a church that reaches into every community in this valley that doesn’t have a gospel witness, establishing a community of grace to live, love and serve in those communities. We are so excited to finally launch a GC in Cwmbran. Secondly, because when Hill City was launched several years ago there were 3 communities in the Eastern Valley that we were passionate about reaching out to. We now have a gospel community in all 3! Praise God. Finally, it was great to once again put mission on display and remind our growing Sunday gathering that we’re about a lot more than the big Sunday event – we remain committed to raw, faithful, strategic mission in the heart of communities across this valley. It was clear from the response of the church that they are fully behind this new adventure and will be backing the new GC team all the way.
It was great to have Mez McConnell of 20 Schemes with us that morning so that he could join us in praying for the new Thornhill GC. I’m sure they’d love it if you also could keep them in prayer as they seek to make Christ known up there on the hill in Cwmbran.
